Pier One Score

I popped into Pier One the other day and found a couple of great buys. I have an online client that has been looking for mirrored side tables that weren't a fortune and I sent her this picture of these.

She immediately went and bought them and now they are here:

She sent me this photo of her bedroom in progress. I think they look great! Her bed is from William Sonoma Home and her pillows are from West Elm and the lovely oval paintings and crystal table lamps were her grandmothers. So far so good. I love when I get to see these rooms come together.

A quick trip to New York

My trips to NYC are always filled with work and family visits. This trip was no different - exhausting and fantastic. I was checking on a new project that I'm really excited about in Murray Hill. I got lucky with perfect weather. Which was great since it had been raining in LA for a week straight when I left.

I made sure to walk through the park on my way to the Met. I always go to the Met when I'm in the city. It reminds me of when I was in college - we used to have drawing classes there. Yep, I was one of those annoying kids sitting in front of a Rodin blocking your path.

I loved Batali's Otto in the Village.  It reminded me of Mozza here in LA- one of my favorite places. If you're in NYC you have to go to his new store Eataly. The size is jaw dropping. You can spend hours in there. Which I did. This is what I ate at Otto.

I ate a lot on this trip... like this late night stop at Serendipity was completely unnecessary but worth it!
I loved the Ace Hotel on 29th Street designed by the incredible team, Roman & Williams. It was too dark in there for my photos to come out but it's worth a trip to sit in the lounge for a drink or have dinner at their restaurant  The Breslin.

The town houses decorated for Halloween were drawing crowds:

All in all it was a great trip and I look forward to going back and checking on the progress of this latest project.
